REFLECTIONS: Processing the Pandemic
REFLECTIONS is a public art & storytelling installation marking COVID's fifth anniversary. We invited New Yorkers to speak to a two-way mirror, sharing their pandemic experiences while in conversation with their own reflection. Our goal was to create space to process, reflect and heal from this life-altering time.
We invite you to also reflect on the lockdown of 2020. What was it like for you? If inspired, please share your #2020reflections and check out the stories at @reflections_2020 on Instagram.
When you reflect back to 2020, what are your biggest takeaways?
When we all stayed home, did you feel more connected to people or less connected?
If our biggest challenges offer the greatest growth, how do you feel you’ve grown since 2020?
What about 2020 improved your life? And what reduced your quality of life?
How was your creativity impacted during the pandemic? What did you create?
What life lessons did you take away from 2020?
What was something positive that happened for you in 2020?
Did you find lockdown to be restrictive or freeing?
How has your life changed since the pandemic? What have those changes taught you?
What stories would you tell future generations about the time of COVID-19?
Thank you for participating in REFLECTIONS! Together we learn, together we heal.
All of the stories from our project are on view at the City Lore Gallery at 56 E. 1st St, New York, NY from March 29th - April 27th.
As one of the participants commented, “The world changed, but so did we.”
